THE DOLLHOUSE
Transitioning to a petite home was an opportunity to make a small living room carry big impact. Always striving for individuality with unexpected cohesion, my strategy was to thoughtfully pull in some of our most prized possessions while incorporating bold use of color.

Walking into the back of furniture was inevitable in this floor plan, so choosing pieces with 360 appeal was a priority.
These beautiful 1970s Luna Chairs were perfect for the space, both in size and style.
Layered rugs with muted texture help anchor the room.
With low ceilings and small windows, the drapes were raised to create an illusion of more height, and flanked the fireplace to be one complete aesthetic gesture.
Chartreuse velvet drapes & a red vintage Persian rug created an unexpected color combination.

Once a Noguchi coffee table model, we kept the triangle glass top, and replaced the base with a dark green Artedi-inspired marble design. The stone’s natural markings on top of the rug give the illusion of mixing prints.
The brass detail within the table tie in the metals from the arc lamp and ultra-modern mirror above the sofa.
One of my favorite corners of the room is the lonesome window with its own moment. A raw, pink and green marble slab, purchased at a gem and rock shop in Utah.
Custom hairpin legs were added for a minimal design.

Mixing color is not the only way I have fun - I also enjoy mixing materials and eras of design.
In this space, it's tied together and balanced with repeating tones and finishes, creating a moody-modern aesthetic.
